The following are the essentials of what we believe at APM.  

 

The Bible

The Bible contains God’s words to us. It is God’s Word. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is inspired by God and is therefore without error. It is the supreme and complete source of truth by which we are to live our lives.

 

The Trinity

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, with equal power and authority. 

 

God the Father

God calls Himself the “I Am” because He is everything. He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, and above all, Holy. God always was, always is, and always will be. He has a purpose for the earth, and His purpose will stand. All things on earth are under the watchful eye and sovereign control of God.

 

God the Son - Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was sent to earth by the Father. He was fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of mankind through His death on the cross. He arose from death after three days, defeating the power of sin and death, so that mankind can have life and relationship with God. He ascended to Heaven and will return for the Church at the appointed time.

 

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit was sent to mankind at large after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. He causes people to be aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and gives spiritual gifts. He is called the Comforter and the Counselor, and he provides the Christian with understanding of spiritual truth and with power and guidance to live the kind of life God created us to live. 

 

Human Beings

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all people are born separated from God due to sin.

 

Salvation

Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith, we are saved. 

 

Eternity

People will either exist eternally separated from God by sin in Hell or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
