God Knows How to Reach Us
Luke 2:8-9a, ESV
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
Luke 2:25-32, ESV
Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, he took him up in his arms and blessed God…
Matthew 2:1-2, ESV
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
Whether it’s splitting open the heavens, the internal whisper of the Holy Spirit, or a sign you can’t miss, God knows how to reach you.
And God knows how to reach the ones you love.
I don’t know what you’re needing to hear from God this Christmas, but make no mistake, He knows how to speak to you in just the right way to encourage you and direct you and lead you along the path He has for you. He wants you to live the plan He has for you more than you do.
And for those whom you love who are hurting or are far away from God—He wants them to walk the path He has for them even more than you do.
He’ll split the heavens open for those who need revelation.
He’ll be faithful to His promises for those who have stood waiting in faith.
He’ll create a sign that can’t be missed for those who are seeking.
So, again, take heart this Christmas. God sees you. God knows how to reach you. God knows what you need to see and hear from Him. And He will send just what you need at the moment you need it.
Oh Lord, thank you that you reveal yourself to us, that you speak to us, and that you reach us where we are in ways specifically designed for us. We ask you to bring peace to the hearts of those who are praying for someone who is hurting this Christmas—or someone who is far from you. Split open the heavens to draw the lost ones to yourself this Christmas. Amen.
