God Will Get You to Your Destiny

Psalm 37:23a (AMP)

The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the LORD,

David was the author of this Psalm, and oh how he knew this to be true. He was the man who went from the sheep fields to the battlefield to the throne.

And God—not David—got him there.

No planning, strategizing, or networking got David to his destiny, just his faithfulness—and just God.

David was moved by God to the place of his anointing.

David was moved by God to play the harp at the palace.

David was moved by God to the battlefield of the giant.

And David was moved by God to the throne.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD” (Jeremiah 29:11).

God plans, God strategizes, God networks—and God establishes our steps.

Planning, strategizing, and networking are not bad things. In fact, they’re good things! And sometimes God even uses them to advance us.

But sometimes he doesn’t.

And, even when he does, we have to realize that he could have done it without them.

Sometimes we get so afraid that if we don’t get the strategy just right or we don’t figure something out or we don't find the right person to meet, then we’re going to miss it—that we’re going to miss what God has for us if our plans or strategies or networking is incomplete.

But we’re not going to miss it.

If you are seeking God, then you’re not going to miss what he has for you.

God will do it. God will establish your steps.

We won’t reach our destiny by “figuring it all out.” Our responsibility is to manage the condition of our heart and remain faithful, and God will get us to our destiny.
