God Won't Leave Us Hanging

Matthew 2:7-10, ESV

Then Herod summoned the wise men secretly and ascertained from them what time the star had appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship him.” After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.

Have you ever noticed that it’s likely the star had disappeared for a while?

The star appeared to the wise men when they were in the east, signifying to them the birth of the Messiah—which took them to Jerusalem to inquire about His location so they could worship Him. But when they arrived, they discovered that no one even knew about his birth.

So when the wise men received the charge from Herod to find the child, they probably wondered how they were going to do this—until the star appeared once again. And they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.

God won’t leave us hanging. He’ll finish what He starts—in us, through us, and in our lives.

So this Christmas, if you feel like the star has disappeared for a time, then rest assured that God will send it again at the very moment you need it.

God won’t leave you hanging.

He’ll finish what He’s started—in you, through you, and in your life.
