Keep Sowing

Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

The Lord recently spoke this verse to my heart in a moment when I needed to hear it, and I believe there may be someone else who needs to hear it today.

In this section of Galatians, Paul is talking about all kinds of work on behalf of the kingdom of God—walking with a brother or sister in Christ through the process of repentance and restoration, bearing each other's burdens, giving and sharing what we have, and “doing good to everyone, especially to those who are of the household of faith” (verse 10).

It doesn’t matter what kind of work we’re doing for God, sometimes we get tired. Sometimes we need to be encouraged to keep going. Sometimes we need to be reminded that our work is doing something good and is not in vain.

So if you are “doing good”—if you are sowing seeds on behalf of the kingdom of God—and you’re tired, take heart today. In due time, harvest will come.

Don’t Give Up.

You will reap what you sow.

Harvest is coming.

Oh Lord, thank you for your wonderful promises throughout scripture! Please give us the strength, endurance, and patience we need to keep sowing. Amen.
