Remember the Source of Wisdom
Proverbs 2:6, ESV
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Proverbs 9:10, ESV
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
1 Corinthians 1:30a, ESV
And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God,
Learning is good. Learning from people is good. Learning from podcasts and books and sermons is good. But may we never forget that the greatest way to grow in wisdom is at the feet of Jesus.
Sitting with God.
Sitting with the Word of God.
Communing with our Creator.
No wisdom from man can compare to the wisdom that comes straight from the Spirit of God.
May we never prioritize listening to the voices of men above listening to the One who created them.
Oh Lord, thank you for the invitation we have to know you and to sit at your feet. Thank you for your gift of wisdom, and may we never elevate the voices of people above the voice of our Creator. Draw us ever closer to your side, that we may grow in the wisdom that comes straight from the heart of your Spirit. Amen.
