Tell Your Stories
Psalm 73:28
But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
All throughout the book of Psalms, the psalmists declare that they will tell what God has done for them. And all throughout the Bible, God instructs his people to tell the next generation what he has done.
We have to tell our stories.
Wherever you have influence, to whoever is in your life—at home, at work, at the ball field, at school, etc.—tell your stories.
Stories have power.
Revelation 12:11 tells us that the accuser is overthrown by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimonies—that is the SPOKEN word.
When the power of Jesus Christ intersects with our story, then we have a testimony—over and over again throughout our lives. And every testimony is meant to be told.
In Judges 2:10 we see the consequences of our stories dying with us: And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD or the work that he had done for Israel.
We have to tell our stories. People listen to stories because they’re personal and relatable. Even God used stories! Almost half of the Bible is comprised of stories.
Stories have power.
Stories preach without preaching.
We all have stories of what God has done.
Let's tell our stories.
